JDS Fiber Inc. was born from a dream and a promise. Its founder, Yami, came to the United States with one clear goal: to give her mother a better future. She faced difficult days, demanding jobs, and challenges that would have made many give up. Yet, every obstacle became a lesson, and every lesson, a step closer to her goal.

Her journey began in construction, working with brick and concrete. It was there, under the guidance of one of her supervisors, that she discovered the world of fiber optics—a field where few believed a woman could truly excel. With determination and discipline, Yami worked for several subcontractors, gaining knowledge, refining her skills, and learning the value of quality and trust in every project.

Along the way, she met Oscar Navarrete, who opened the door for her to collaborate with major corporations. She also received the unwavering support of people like Lee Thompson, Chriss Ratliff, and Jerry Blankenship, who believed in her vision. Leading companies such as S&N Communications, Lambert Communications, among many others, placed their trust in her ability to manage high-level projects—setting key milestones in the company’s growth.

Forever grateful—first to God and to this country for the opportunities it provided—Yami is now proud that JDS Fiber Inc. has become a source of income for many families who, like her, have dreams and goals, and share the same spirit of hard work and perseverance.
